The DK Varsity Boys Track team hosted its first conference meet against Holland Black River this past Wednesday. The DK team came away with a 97 to 38 win. DKHS Students and Families Here is the schedule for Thursday, April 11, 2024 April 11th ACT WorkKeys 11th Grade In-person & Online (DK Academy See Below) 11th-grade students all test in the morning and they are allowed to leave after testing. They will have no school responsibilities in the afternoon. If a student decides to stay for transportation reasons, they will go to their AEP class for the remaining portion of the day. All online students will need to leave after testing is completed. 12th-grade students do not report on this day. (college visit day or career day). 9th and 10th grade students do not report to school, but they will be logging into distance learning for the day, using the following schedule: 1st period 8:00-8:55 (Google Meet 8:00-8:30) 2nd period 9:00-9:55 (Google Meet 9:00-9:30) 3rd period 10:00-10:55 (Google Meet 10:00-10:30) 4th period 12:00-12:55 (Google Meet 12:00-12:30) 5th period 1:00-1:55 (Google Meet 1:00-1:30) 6th period 2:00-2:50 (Google Meet 2:00-2:30) Spring athletic practices start at 3:30 DK ACADEMY Thursday, April 11th - ACT WorkKeys Job and Career Assessment 11th-grade students all test in the morning and they are allowed to leave after testing. Dear Delton Kellogg Families, We understand that this will come as an inconvenience, and we do apologize, but we are writing to inform you that we will be calling a half-day of school on Monday, April 8th. We will be following our regular half-day schedule. This decision has been made in light of the upcoming solar eclipse, with a peak time expected around 3:11 pm. Our number one priority is student safety, therefore we made the decision to NOT have our buses running their PM routes during the peak of the eclipse. Our number one concern was distracted drivers on the road and students exiting the bus safely. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority and we will always err on the side of caution. Additionally, while witnessing this natural phenomenon can be an exciting and educational experience, viewing the eclipse without proper eye protection can be harmful. By ending school early, we aim to allow everyone the opportunity to safely observe the eclipse with their families. As it is the first day back after spring break, it is important for us to reach our 75% attendance threshold so as not to have a makeup school day in June. DK Baseball Fans, We have an update regarding our JV and Varsity baseball teams for the opener this Monday, March 25th vs. Plainwell. The JV game, at Plainwell, will begin at 4:00 pm and will be a 5-inning affair. The varsity will also travel to Plainwell (they were originally scheduled to play at DK) and the first pitch will be directly following the JV game. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and allow us to get at least one game for each level. We will have a bus for the varsity kids that will leave at 4:00 pm and will be able to bring both teams back. Please make a note on your schedules. Thanks and Go Panthers!!
