Dear Parents,
We understand that the lack of drivers has created a difficult situation in many homes. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through this. We are currently onboarding and bringing on 3 new drivers and a new supervisor that will also be certified to drive. It will not fix itself overnight but it is a move in a positive direction. To address this concern, we are going to offer free childcare for K-5 students at Delton Elementary for routes affected by this shortage. We are working on staffing the program and at this time and we wiil email specifics once it is finalized.
I know this doesn't fix the problem but it will hopefully ease some concerns.

Sincerely,
Jeremy Wright

📣We're planning for the future!
On May 6, Delton Kellogg Schools voters will consider a bond proposal that would fund facilities improvements to our school buildings to focus on:
- Safe & efficient infrastructure
- Building for real world skills
- Maximizing space at our Elementary & Middle Schools
- See our website for a full project list!
If approved, the bond would have zero millage increase expected to the tax rate, keeping DK at the lowest millage rate of our neighboring districts.

We Wear Blue!
Elianna Osborne, a kindergarten student at DKES, was diagnosed with a rare neuro-genetic disorder called Angelman Syndrome (AS) at the age of 8 months old. AS is a rare disorder that affects about 1 in 20,000 births. A few symptoms of AS are seizures, non verbal, diminished need for sleep, delayed ability to walk and so much more! As of now, there is no cure for AS but with advancing science and research there is hope for a treatment and a CURE!
Cupids have wings, Angels do too, on the 14th we wear red, on the 15th we wear blue! Join us on Saturday and wear blue to support Elianna and her friends with AS.
Elianna is pictured below, for more information about AS please feel free to visit www.cureangelman.org

Students in the DKHS woodshop have been actively engaged in projects that benefit the local community. Recently, they completed a set of benches and a market stand for the Delton Community Garden. Currently, the senior woodshop students are working on constructing a large Adirondack chair to replace the one that previously stood between the library and the soccer field. To ensure it can endure Michigan's unpredictable weather, the chair is being built with pressure-treated wood for increased durability.

DKHS Parents and Students,
Please be advised that NWEA Testing has been canceled for tomorrow. Treat tomorrow as a regular school day, and ensure all students, including seniors, arrive by 7:55 AM to avoid being tardy or marked absent.
Thank you!
