This week, Teen Cuisine Cooking Class students visited Valley Hub in Kalamazoo! 🌱 They learned about the connection between local farmers and our community food systems, including meals served at DK schools. Students explored Hydroponics and Aquaponics (with Koi fish!)—an ancient farming method where fish and plants help each other grow. 🐟🌿 They also saw how Michigan-grown apples are cleaned, chopped, and packaged at the Food Hub, even getting to taste some fresh apple slices! 🍏
