Girls Second Place in SAC Valley Division

Congratulations to the Delton Kellogg/Thornapple Kellogg/Hastings High School Girls’ Swimming & Diving Team members who joined with the team members from Wayland Union High School to have a “Beat Cancer” Meet on Thursday evening.  The theme of the meet was: Support the Fighters, Admire the Survivors, Honor the Taken, and NEVER EVER GIVE UP HOPE!
Each event was preceded by announcing the names of persons affected by cancer for whom the event was dedicated.  The names of the persons to be honored were submitted by the members of both teams.  In addition, the members of both teams collected several hundred dollars of donations that will be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Taking first places in the meet from TKHS were Haley Bashore, Abby Gray, and Lauren Kroells, while Grace Beauchamp, Kate Haywood, and Samantha Richardson from Hastings High School also took first places.
The DK/TK/Hastings Team won the meet with a score of 105 to 78, but everyone who participated in the meet were winners by dedicating their efforts to all of those family members and friends affected by cancer.
