Hello, my name is Chad Boehm and I have been working at Barry County CMH for the past 9 years. I received my undergrad social work degree from Hope College and have a social work master’s degree from Western Michigan University with a focus in school social work. Barry County Community Mental Health Authority and Delton-Kellogg High School are continuing a partnership to have a clinician placed at the High School that began in 2013. I will be available on Thursdays to provide therapy on an individual basis to students who meet criteria for clinical services. In addition, I will be available Tuesday afternoons from 12:00-4:00 to complete scheduled intakes. There is potential for small groups to form throughout the course of the school year based on caseload numbers and clinical needs of students. In the event of small groups being formed, an additional day will be determined to offer group service(s) to DKHS students. I look forward to having the continued opportunity of working with students at the High School and working with the DKHS staff and counseling department to develop program expansion. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Delton-Kellogg Days at Albion College and KVCC

Twenty Delton-Kellogg Juniors and Seniors went on college visits to Albion College and KVCC in a cooperative effort to not only improve students awareness of liberal arts schools and community college, but also to provide highly valuable information to students about college in general. This effort was led by Delton-Kellogg Alum Keith Roberts, Delton-Kellogg  alum and current Albion College Junior Ryan Watson, School Counselor Jim Hogoboom, counseling intern Samantha Warner, Associate Director of Admission Lloyd McPartlin, and Mary Frazier Admissions Representative. Students went on an extensive tour of both campus’ with knowledgeable tour guides who answered any question the students had about each school or daily college life. Students were also given the opportunity to meet with coaches and players from various varsity teams in order to network, and gain a valuable understanding about what it is to be a student athlete. Lloyd McPartlin also gave a small presentation about some of the different financial aspects of post secondary schooling at Albion, and a team of representatives from KVCC presented to students about helpful services available to them. College visits are highly important in the decision making process for Juniors and Seniors in order to get a real life feel for a school campus. These visits also allow them to learn beneficial information from other students in order to make a well informed decision about post-secondary schooling.
