Lunch Charging Policy for Delton Kellogg Schools
Delton Kellogg students (grade K-5) may charge their lunch if they forget their lunch or lunch money. They are required to repay the charge back on the next school day. If a student has an outstanding charge of more than 5 lunches, they will not be allowed to charge another lunch. Delton Kellogg students (grade 6-12) may charge their lunch if they forget their lunch or lunch money. They are required to repay the charge back on the next school day. If a student has an outstanding charge of more than 3 lunches, they will not be allowed to charge another lunch. Secondary students are never allowed to charge a la carte items. For all students, we will provide a cold cheese sandwich, fruit and milk if this occurs. Once the outstanding charge is repaid, the student is free to charge again when necessary. If you would like to see if your child has an outstanding charge, feel free to call your school kitchen. We send out notices via email and school messenger on low and negative balances. Please remember, you can always fill out an Application for Free and Reduced Price Meals at any time during the school year, if your household demographics and/or income has changed. Additionally, if your child receives benefits for free/reduced lunches they also qualify for free/reduced breakfast.
